3D Printed Chess Queen From Outer Space! Time Lapse On Ender 3 Pro 3D Printer

This is my latest 3D printed chess piece chosen by my chess students. The 3D modeled Alien chess set from ethanjurman is simply out of this world. Sorry, I had to do it! Any print that has this satisfying spiral pattern is always great to watch in time lapse form.

How time lapse 3D Prints Work
After each .1 MM layer( That is barely thicker than a sheet of paper!) the 3D printer pauses, moves the extruder to the rear of the printer, takes a photo and then continues the print giving the illusion of the print appearing from thin air.

Print and Filament Details
This video was filmed using Octoprint connected to a Raspberry Pi B with a 1080P Webcam. My printer is a trusty Creality Ender 3 Pro that can be purchased these days for around $200. Total print time was around 9.5 Hours with each layer set to .1MM. This print used Copper PLA Filament available on Amazon.com
